God,
Help me pull my scattered and tattered life back together.
Show me which parts are too torn to be repaired: even though they may seem sturdy enough to me, only You know which ones can actually hold the weight of my purpose.
Help me not to automatically discard the ones that might seem too damaged. Show me which ones still have a solid foundation beneath their scratches and gouges and dents. Direct me into picking the ones that, with some gentle and intricate work, can be rebuilt and restored to a version that is even better than the original.
Help me find the parts that blew miles and miles away. Help me dig them up, scrub off the mud and brush away the grass so I can understand their purpose and identity. Then, help me discern whether the spaces they used to occupy in me have already been filled, or if we need these retrieved parts to make me whole again.
Let me see the pieces that remain stubbornly and steadfastly anchored to the ground with new eyes. Help me look at them through the lenses of kindness and curiosity to see why they are still there, and if they are still beneficial and needed.
After we have them all laid out in front of me, Lord, please cover me with Your hand. Hide me for a moment: out of Your way, yet still in Your rest.
Then let Your Spirit blow a new healing wind that
Weaves and hammers and bonds all of the pieces that were
Deliberately, carefully, purposefully chosen by You:
To make me
To mold me
To restore me into Your handiwork.
Your masterpiece.
Amen.
